About PanelRaid

Stories worth experiencing. Stories worth discussing.

PanelRaid is an independent publication dedicated to anime, manga, and video games. It's a place for thoughtful discussions, personal perspectives, and a deeper appreciation of the stories that stay with us long after we've finished them.

We're not here to chase every trending topic, report every minor announcement, or tell you what you're supposed to like. PanelRaid exists because some stories deserve more than a passing conversation.

Why does a decades-old manga still resonate with readers today? What makes a particular video game unforgettable? Why do certain characters, themes, and moments leave such a lasting impression?

Those are the kinds of questions that interest us.

What You'll Find Here

PanelRaid explores anime, manga, and gaming through long-form editorials, retrospectives, analysis, and recommendations.

Whether it's examining the struggles of adolescence and the search for recognition in Slam Dunk, revisiting the legacy of classic Final Fantasy games, or discussing what makes a fictional character compelling, the focus is always on the work itself and what makes it worth talking about.

We appreciate both the celebrated classics and the overlooked gems. A story doesn't have to be universally acclaimed to be meaningful, and popularity doesn't automatically make something great.

Our Approach

We believe criticism should come from genuine interest, not the need to manufacture an opinion.

Our articles are written with a clear perspective, supported by research, careful consideration, and an appreciation for the medium. We aren't interested in pretending every opinion is objective or that every beloved work is beyond criticism.

Sometimes we'll celebrate a masterpiece. Sometimes we'll question its reputation. And sometimes we'll simply share why a particular story means something to us.

You don't have to agree with everything written here. Different interpretations and perspectives are part of what makes discussing entertainment interesting in the first place.

Why PanelRaid?

Because finishing a great story doesn't always mean you're finished thinking about it.

Sometimes you want to revisit its characters, understand its themes, question its choices, or simply appreciate what made the experience special.

PanelRaid is a place for those conversations.

Thanks for reading.
